RE: Project SamSquatch!
I dont know much about closed knuckle 60's but from what ive been told they are the weakest of the 60clan.. Correct me if im wrong as well but i dont think there are many aftermarket parts out there for them either if any???

Nice looking xj though, should make a fun project,,

That Dodge closed knuckle 60 is not very desirable. It's 10 spline, and truly not much stronger than a modern HD Dana 44. Sorry man!

The best option for 35" tires is Dana 44s. Any larger and Dana 60 or 9" becomes a good way to go.

RE: Project SamSquatch!
That 205 is pretty good though except for the weight and that it is devorced so if your running an auto in that its going to mean a little rear shaft and a long front shaft. But it does have a fancy PTO on it... are you planning on using that ?

The gear ratio is also not great with a 205 but they are practically indestructable.

RE: Project SamSquatch!
Your transmission won't bolt up to it, you will need a 2wd transmission or get some kind of conversion to make it work which would probably be pricy.

RE: Project SamSquatch!
The transfercase is probably worth somewhere around 400, I payed 800 for a SM465 and NP205 together. The axle I have no clue.

RE: Project SamSquatch!
The axle is actually worth very little, scrap steel.

Totally undesirable for a 4x4.
