Hardcore run
Have you FV guys definatively figured out the date for the hardcore run? I'm trying to schedule the time but need to know ASAP. I know that there was some confusion between the 8 and the 16th

RE: Hardcore run
Sorry for my on site 2012 Schedule mistake, that made two runs both Sept 8th. It has been corrected. And the hardcore run is Sunday, Sept. 16th as per original calendar. NOW MEETING at DUNVAGAN MOTOR INN in Fairview for Breakfast @ 9AM and departing from there This is good for you right? Mrgreen

RE: Hardcore run
Mitch and I ran the one half of the trail this weekend and it was wonderful, probably the hardest I've ever seen this trail. Mitch and I both had to winch a couple so be prepared for the best run ever. We will run the other half before the run date and let everyone know how great its going to be. P.S. the rocks are bigger than ever.

Don't worry, we'll still stack rock for the 35" guys Wink or 40"-42" guys. But it's only place I know of close that has that much rock crawling! Amazing! Alittle over 2hrs for 2 of us to run one section with a few stucks each, I going to throw 8hrs to do both sections with 5-8 rigs depending on who comes and what kinda cool lines they pick Smile

Twila and I managed to get the time off. We plan to be there on the 15th. I'm just searching around for a trailer to haul the beast up on. It's just too far to go in case I have a catastrophic break down.

RE: Hardcore run
A question for Tony and /or Mitch.

What are the requirements for this run? I would love to do it but I don't want to destroy the Defender either.
It's locked in the rear and truetrak in the front, heavy duty axles are installed now, tires are my biggest weakness.

Let me know if you think I can do this run or not, if not I will have to find a ride.

Have you been in there before? I don't think you will "DESTROY" anything, other then a tire side wall Wink There have been lesser vehicles thru there. But yes your tires are the limiting factor... You were talking about some mud tires @ ACE. You did say that you use the Defender 90 just for offroad, may I suggest 36x13.5-16LT Iroks http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=6&g=1
Or if you want to stay with skinnies Q78-16LT TSLs http://www.intercotire.com/tires.php?id=10&g=1
Pit bull Rockers would be another tough option, Dan had some issues with the radials though, if I remember right.
Bais ply will give you the side wall strenght for almost anything, but there are many options in radial 35" that would be way better on road.

RE: Hardcore run
I ran the 37" bias Rockers and had issues. Not the Radial rocker. I have been seeing great reviews on the radial version

RE: Hardcore run
Actually I did go through it with the LR3 a couple of years ago, on 30" Goodyear MTR's, I did loose one but otherwise made it though ok. I'll have to do some research but I don't think I can put anything bigger than 33's without doing some major mods to the truck. Thanks for your input.
