2015 GP schedule
We're gunna wheel.

I can't be as organized as Andrew and the FV chapter, but there will be some stuff going on this summer, including some trips just across the border into BC which may require fishing rods and inflatable boats. Beautiful country and good fishing.

I still want to do the Barkerville/Yanks peak run, but I can't give a date yet.

Ace is highly recommended and is always good times.

If anyone around GP wants to head out, shoot me a text and see if we can throw something together. I am very busy with work and family, but hey, wheeling can normally fit in there somewhere.

RE: 2015 GP schedule
I did the Yanks Peak/Barkerville  excursion, back in the late 70's. VERY rugged and what a blast. Back then we did it in full size 4x4's with definately winching involved. I don't believe that route is open anymore. Absolutely gorgeous terrain/alpine. Couldn't actually make thru till August. There is only a small window when the snow is gone.
95 Suzuki Sidekick, 4" lift on 32"s. Spooled Rear. Superwinch. Choose a road wisely!! Wide the road that leads to destruction and many will choose it. Narrow the road that leads to life, but few will find it. Math.7:13-14

RE: 2015 GP schedule
I've heard different things abou the route, we did it in a new stock 1984 Dodge 1500. I remember being scared of rolling over in a few spots, but we had no winch. There is a road if all else fails, it's pretty neat country back in there anyway you go.

RE: 2015 GP schedule
I'm all in for any event. I will share some time with tntfv for obvious reason and I don't know a enough trail to be an organiser but some dune afternoon or a day or more trip to kakwa would be nice if I get my tnt wings maybe I could be more involve in organising runs.

Hope we will have an event soon so I can meet the gp tnt !

RE: 2015 GP schedule
It's all in the trac bar Grant, and proper alignment. I've got mine to non with the rims/tires you now have and barely noticeable with the Boggers that shake the LJ like a tamper. Get everything tight and aligned and it'll be good again.

RE: 2015 GP schedule
Anywhere between July 7 to 19 would be cool. I'm planning on touring Alberta then. Do the forestry trunk Rd from top to bottom. A few trails here and there along the way. Waiparious etc... And then I have some holidays booked for ACE

RE: 2015 GP schedule
Not yet. Been looking for people for a month already lol there's not many people willing to do that kind of trip from here. Theres way more to see out there than the local stuff. I want to explore the province this year!

I'll be there if I'm back in town. In Calgary for couple days. I don't see any reason why I couldn't be there. I let you know more by the week end

RE: 2015 GP schedule
Trunk road has some good scenery. We did it a couple years ago and stopped in Hinton for the night, then tried Ruby falls but was too wet.
I'm working tomorrow so won't make it.

RE: 2015 GP schedule
I'm expecting some really wet terrain for tomorrow lol. I bet the trunk road is probably a very nice ride. Is there much trail going up the mountain along the road ?
